Itanagar, Apr 13: The Cultural and Literary Society of Mishmi (CALSOM) urged the Arunachal Pradesh government to initiate a proper investigation into the suspected murder of a youth from Lohit district, whose body was recovered in Andhra Pradesh.
In a representation addressed to the state Home Minister, CALSOM stated that late Frelum Tarainyu, a resident of Koraliang village in Lohit district, was allegedly murdered while travelling from Bengaluru to Guwahati by train. His body was found near Sompeta Railway Station under the jurisdiction of Palasa GRP in Srikakulam district.
According to the representation, the deceased had made a distress call to his elder brother on the evening of April 9, informing that some of his companions were chasing him and posed a threat to his life. He had also reportedly stated that Rs 1.5 lakh had been robbed from him. It is suspected that the crime may have been committed by his own companions.

The FIR has been lodged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), citing allegations of threat, robbery and suspected murder.
The Superintendent of Police, Lohit district, has requested authorities in Andhra Pradesh to register a regular FIR and take up immediate investigation, as the place of occurrence falls under their jurisdiction.
