Itanagar, Apr 13: On the eve of Ambedkar Jayanti 2026, the ST Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Arunachal Pradesh, organized a cleanliness drive at Indira Gandhi Park here.
The programme witnessed active participation from several party leaders and dignitaries, including MLA Rotom Tebin, vice president-cum-convener Tarh Soping, state president of BJP ST Morcha Kame Yangfo, general secretary-cum-convener of the cleanliness drive Techi Nayak, senior leaders Nalong Mize, Techi Necha, Taring Rai, Joram Tat, and Pema Mugli.
The initiative was carried out as a mark of respect to B R Ambedkar, highlighting the importance of cleanliness, social responsibility, and community participation.
Addressing the gathering, Yangfo appealed to the public not to litter in the park. He noted that the park attracts many visitors and tourists for relaxation and leisure, and unclean surroundings could create a negative impression of the state. He urged all visitors, including morning and evening walkers, to maintain cleanliness and uphold civic responsibility.
