ITANAGAR, Aug 24: In the 6th edition of Arunachal Club T20 Championship played at the AIOC ground here today, as Nirjuli Cricket Club and Itanagar Cricket Club registered victories.
In match no 15, Nirjuli Cricket Club defeated AIOC by 12 runs in a closely fought encounter. Winning the toss, Nirjuli team elected to bat first and posted a competitive 157/7 in 20 overs**.
Captain Techi Doria struck a well-made 30 off 22 balls, while Jacob Takam added a quick 19 off just 7 deliveries before being run out. Techi Nega top-scored with an unbeaten 47 off 33 balls.
For AIOC, Lalit Deva claimed 2 wickets for 28 runs, while Factotum Tempol also picked up two wickets.
In reply, AIOC began confidently, with Techi Tado anchoring the innings with an excellent 51 off 50 balls**, while Lalit Deva played an attacking knock of 45 from 31 balls.
In match No 16, Itanagar Cricket Club produced a commanding all-round performance to defeat Academy for Cricketing Excellence (ACE) by 67 runs. After winning the toss, Ita team chose to bat and made 166/9 in their allotted 20 overs.
Chandan KR Singh scored 43 off only 23 balls, while Chege Chubing madeh a quickfire 34 off 20 balls.
Captain Biki Kumar II contributed 33, while Rominson made 16.
ACE's chase never gathered sufficient momentum. Ita’s bowlers restricted the opposition to 99 all out in 17.3 overs.
Nabam Jamper was the pick of the bowlers, delivering an impressive spell of 4/39 in four overs.
